Our Statement of Faith

Though it is impossible for a single page to contain one’s entire theology, there are certain unchanging, foundational truths that characterize the essence of what we believe as a church.

We believe that the Bible was written by God through men and is completely true.  As such, it is authoritative for matters of faith, life, conduct, correction, teaching, reproof and knowledge.  2 Peter 1:21-22; 2 Timothy 3:16.

We believe that the being and nature of God is infinite, eternal, unchanging, and perfect.  God is one unified essence expressed in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  John 1:1-4; Matt. 28:19.

We believe that God created man in His image.  Although created good, man rebelled against the loving authority of God and chose to go his own way (sin).  The result was separation from relationship with God (spiritual death) and eventual physical death.  Gen.1:27; Rom. 3:23; Rom. 6:23.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, crucified for our sins.  He died to pay the penalty for our sin.  He was physically resurrected from the dead, seen by many witnesses, and ascended into Heaven.  We believe in His personal and imminent return.  Rom. 5:6-11; l Thess. 4:14; Acts 1:9-11; John 14:1-4.

We believe we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.  Anyone can be restored to relationship with God through repenting, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord.  Only through faith in Christ can one obtain salvation.  Rom. 10:9-10; Eph. 2:8; John 14:6

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, convinces of righteousness, and guides us into all truth.  The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be God’s witnesses and to minister in power.  He gives to each believer spiritual gifts for service.  John 16:5-15; Acts 1: 8;1 Cor. 12:7-11.

We believe the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ.  It exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ, to advance His Kingdom, to destroy the works of the enemy, to preach and live the good news of God’s love, to disciple the nations, teaching them to love and obey God.  Matt. 28:18-20; 1 John 3:8; Matt: 6:10.

We believe Heaven and hell are real places.  We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people.  Those who have received the gift of life through faith in Christ will be resurrected to eternal life and rule and reign with Him eternally; those who have refused the gift of life to eternal damnation.  John 3:16-18; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Rom. 5:17; Rev.20: 11-15.
